  • Jumelles is a quiet village with all the necessary amenities close by. Shops and services can be found in the neighbouring small town of Saint-André-de-l'Eure (4.5 km from the house).
  • There is a local primary school. State secondary schools (Years 7 to 10) can be found in Saint-André-de-l'Eure and in Evreux (Years 11 to 13) (18 km). Private primary and secondary schools can also be found in Evreux. School buses are available from outside the house.
  • The main railway station is in Evreux, which has regular links to Paris Saint-Lazare, Deauville, Caen and Cherbourg. The bus station in Evreux has a regular service to Rouen. There is an alternative train service from Dreux (33 km) to Paris Montparnasse and links to Brittany.
  • The nearest A13 motorway junction is at Chaufour (28 km) for access to Paris (2 hours). The junction with the N154 dual carriageway is 5 km South-West and allows easy motorway access Northwards to Evreux, Rouen, the Eastern Channel ports, Belgium and the Netherlands, and Southwards towards Chartres and the motorway to South-West France.
  • The area around Jumelles is ideal for relaxing leisure activities such as walking. History lovers will also find many places of interest in the area. The local markets are full of local delicacies for the food lover. The Eure department is full of attractions, such as parks, forests and manor houses.
  • There are also the long sandy beaches of Lower Normandy and the cliffs of Upper Normandy. Giverny (Monet's home), Deauville, Bayeux and the Normandy landing beaches are all within easy reach.
